Question about Shihtzu dogs?

My husband and I are strongly considering getting a dog (preferrably a puppy). A friend of my husband's breed's shihtzu's. I think shihtzu's are cute and loveable and they seem like good dogs. I guess I just want to know if shihtzu's are a good breed? I just want to know more about the breed before we make a decision. If you know of any websites or if you have any information about the shihtzu breed please let me know.
