HELP!?!?! The Ratatouille Wii game is IMPOSSIBLE!?

I really need help getting past the part where you have to run away from Linguini. I know where to go, but even when I sprint, I can't get away from him! Is there a secret to this? I've already checked gamefaqs.com, so please don't tell me to use that. (And I've tried quitting, but I can't bring myself to do that.)
