Wiccan people and magick?

I read the series Balefire and Sweep by Cate Tiernan. They are nonfiction books about people discoving Wicca. I myself, think that it a very interesting religion and I have no idea how real or true the books were. I want to learn the real stuff and what it is about. Is there any beginer sites that are good? What happens when you cast spells? What are some simple ones? I feel like I was meant for this religion because everything that it involves is things I love. Also, if you don't aprove or you are against Wicca, please don't try to tell me how bad it is and give me bible quotes. Thank you for you help.
