Slightly confused: Should the inauthentic letters of Paul be ignored, or do just take on a different purpose?

I think that one should look at the entire letter itself in context. When was this written? To whom? Why was this person writing this letter in the first place? Historical context, etc. Just because the author may be attributed incorrectly (and I'm not saying that they are or are not) doesn't mean that they're to be ignored.
