How much ammunition of small arms fire would it take to stop a M1 Abrams?

An AK-47, M16, Mini gun, M4 etc. How many rounds would it take to knock out a tank? Eventually would the armor be worn down or would it be impossible? How many rounds from .50 cal machine guns? Just curious to what extent it would take to stop a tank without the obvious. I am thinking eventually the armor would be pierced but I am unaware of how that type of armor could hold up. So if an M1 abrams broke down and was a sitting duck with no radio contact or help for hours. Could the crew survive against this type of attack from enemies with lets say unlimited ammunition?
