All files stuck in read only (Windows 7)?

So I am having an issue right now. All of my files are stuck in read only. Videos, pictures, everything. If I right click and bring up the properties it's still showing that there is content in the file (2.47GB for example) but when you open up the file it appears empty. The "read only" box is selected, so I will uncheck it but nothing happens. I think I got a virus and that may have triggered this somehow. I've run my anti-virus (webroot) and cleaned everything up. My files are still in read-only though. Honestly I could care less about the doents and movies, but I have 1000s of irreplaceable photos on my hard drive that I can't get to now. It's very frustrating.
